The Golden Retriever Experience – 2023 Reviewed

Having a Golden Retriever is something special that only an owner can describe. Not everyone is able to have a dog in their home, but what if I tell you, you can have some Golden Retriever experience that you will never forget in your life? This article will review the Golden Retriever experience in full detail.

Owning a dog is something special, but it comes with responsibility; for various reasons, many dog lovers cannot afford a dog like a Golden Retriever in their home. If you consider adopting one, you must ensure you can fulfil all their needs. Dogs like Golden Retrievers need a lot of care and attention.

You never knew the joy and happiness a dog can bring to your family. Someone said, “The best therapist has fur and four legs” yes, dogs like Golden Retrievers are the best therapists to reduce stress and bring more happiness to your life.

The Golden Retriever Experience history

The Golden Retriever Experience was founded in 2017 by a father and daughter (Nicolas and Lauren). In 2006, they bought their first Golden Retriever named Bella, and in 2008 Bella had her first litter of puppies.

Later, they started their registered kennel named Bellauranah Golden Retrievers; until 2016, they were selling pedigree Golden Retriever puppies and keeping most of them for themselves.

Having so much experience and understanding of Golden Retrievers made them start The Dog Whisperer UK. They started to share their experience with other dog owners to help them understand their dog’s psychological behaviour and how to train them.

Their pack of goldies started growing more and more, which let them open a Golden Retriever’s paradise in Exmoor National Park. Later, The Golden Retriever Experience was born in 2017, which enables dog lovers around the UK to visit with their friends and family to encounter a pack of trained Golden Retrievers.

How to book The Golden Retriever Experience

The Golden Retriever Experience has become more popular around the UK, so booking on your favourite date and time can be tricky.

If you visit The Golden Retriever Experience website, you will find a floating BOOK NOW button on the left side of your browser. By clicking this button, you will be given the option to book your time slot with multiple session options. You can now book any available slot from April 2022 to October 2022.

The Golden Retriever Experience session timing

Two hours is the minimum session time slot available to book, and 5 hours is the maximum time slot you can book for one person. But booking a 2-hour session will not be enough to play with the pack of Golden Retrievers dogs. So, a 2-hour session should be the last option you should choose.

  1. I visited the Golden Retriever Experience on a sunny Saturday morning in October, and I was greeted by Brian and Julie at the gate. They were very friendly and explained the rules and safety guidelines for interacting with the dogs. They also gave me a brief history of the breed and their own story of how they started the experience. They told me that they have been breeding golden retrievers for over 20 years and that they are passionate about sharing their love for these dogs with others.

As soon as I entered the garden, I was surrounded by a sea of golden fur. The dogs were very excited to see me and came running towards me, wagging their tails and licking my face. I felt like I was in heaven. There were dogs of all sizes and ages, from puppies to seniors, and they all had different personalities. Some were playful and energetic, some were calm and relaxed, some were curious and adventurous, and some were shy and timid. They all had one thing in common: they were incredibly sweet and affectionate.

I spent the next hour playing with the dogs, throwing balls, giving treats, brushing their coats, and taking photos. The dogs seemed to enjoy every moment of it, as they followed me around and asked for attention. They were very well-behaved and obedient, and they listened to Brian and Julie’s commands. They also got along well with each other, as they shared toys and space without any aggression or jealousy.

One of the highlights of the experience was meeting Alfie, the oldest dog in the pack. He was 14 years old and had a grey muzzle and a gentle gaze. He was very calm and laid-back, and he liked to sit on a bench and watch the others play. He also liked to cuddle with me and rest his head on my lap. He was such a sweetheart and I felt a special bond with him.

Another highlight was meeting Poppy, the youngest dog in the pack. She was only 4 months old and had a fluffy coat and a cute face. She was very playful and curious, and she loved to explore everything around her. She also loved to chew on everything, including my shoes and my hair. She was very naughty but also very adorable.

The experience ended with a group photo with all the dogs, which was a great souvenir to take home. I also got a certificate of completion and a goody bag with some dog treats and toys. Brian and Julie thanked me for coming and invited me to come back anytime. They also gave me some tips on how to care for a golden retriever if I ever decided to get one.

I left the Golden Retriever Experience feeling happy and fulfilled. It was one of the best experiences of my life and I would highly recommend it to anyone who loves dogs. The golden retrievers were amazing companions who made me feel loved and appreciated. They also taught me some valuable lessons about life, such as being joyful, loyal, friendly, and grateful.

    1. Henry, Thank you for sharing your delightful experience at the Golden Retriever Experience. Your insights will undoubtedly be helpful for future visitors. We appreciate you for taking the time to share your Golden retriever experience here. Thanks.
